Altars - Paramnesia

Altars debut Paramnesia is a meeting of traditional Death Metal groove with some modern flavorings which we see out of bands such as Mitochondrion and Ulcerate. Paramnesia is a very well paced and quite dynamic album with a good grasp on solid grooves making Altars a band to watch out for.

Imperial Triumphant - Abominamentvm and Goliath

New York City isn't exactly the place you would expect black metal to come from and yet here we are. Imperial Triumphant are a black metal band who play in a chaotic style not too dissimilar to a certain black metal band that come up when talking about this specific style of black metal. Imperial Triumphant contains some members from the death metal band Pyrrhon which are also known for their dissonant sound, it's a noticeable influence on the sound of their music. To me it sounds like what would happen if Pyrrhon decided to make a black metal album. With its Pyrrhon influence it sounds more unique than a lot of bands which take up this style.

Its dissonant, grim and twisted. Check them out.

Abyssal - Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius

Just under a year after Denouement, Unannounced and out of nowhere Abyssal have released a new album titled Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius. What a great album to start the year.

This album continues the style begun in Denouement but takes a bit of a darker tone. There are less uplifting moments and more twisted dissonant moments during the album which are always welcome. The song writing style seems more organised and focused and tracks flow together nicely.

Once again the album is pay what you want on bandcamp, I encourage people to put some money towards this album as its well worth it.
